BOZEMAN – The National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WATCH for Saturday afternoon and evening for the Butte/Blackfoot region of SW Montana and along the Rocky Mountain Front.
Strong to severe thunderstorms capable of producing very heavy rainfall in a short amount of time can produce areas of flash flooding, rock slides, and mudslides especially along steep terrain, in burn scar areas and in urban areas.

Rainfall rates will be varied but early estimates of one-half inch or more in 30 minutes is expected with the stronger thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation and can be life-threatening.
