BOZEMAN – Well above normal for Tuesday January 7th with highs in the 40s. This trend is coming to a quick end, in fact, we are headed in the opposite direction with possible lows falling -15 to -30 below zero next week.

The above on-demand weather briefing will walk you through the timing of the arctic air arriving and exiting the state next week. Keep in mind this is an extremely early look at the medium range forecast model output and the forecast temperatures will change over time.

This briefing is to give you as much notice as possible to a significant weather pattern change coming to Montana with extreme cold. There will also likely be areas of snow and wind with this arctic invasion.

The forecast today has the heart of the arctic air blanketing northern, central, and eastern Montana with a few days of bitter cold over SW Montana. I will be monitoring updated forecasts this week to see if this holds true or will the extreme cold dig into SW Montana. There is still a lot of uncertainty this far out in time. So please watch the above weather briefing and keep checking back in with me for updates.
