BOZEMAN Mont.- Storm after storm will continue to plow through the pacific NW and through the Northern Rockies over the next 5 to 7 days.
Some storms will be warm with valley and mountain while others could be on the colder side producing snow all around. Other side effects with this pattern will be occasional strong surface winds.
Backcountry conditions will be difficult at times with periods of heavy wet snow, colder temperatures and gusty winds Friday through Monday.
Mountain passes will also see periods of snow especially in the evening hours and at times slushy roadways and icing will lead to wintry travel impacts so plan on slow go travel over mountain passes in the early morning hours through early next week.

BOZEMAN: LOW: 37°; HIGH FRIDAY: 52°. Valley rain or snow is likely this afternoon and evening. Snow levels start out high around 7,500′ but could drop down to pass level by morning. Mountain snow accumulations of 2″-5″ likely tonight. A short break in the wet weather will arrive by early Friday morning but will be very short lived as the next cold front arrives by afternoon with more rain or snow and stronger winds, SW winds 10 to 20 gusts 40 mph.
BUTTE: LOW: 36°; HIGH FRIDAY: 52°. Cool and wet this afternoon and evening. Rain or snow is likely tonight. Snow is possible above 6,500′. Gusty winds tonight SW winds 10 to 20 gusts to 30 mph is possible. Friday morning a short break in the weather and then the next cold front will hit by afternoon with more rain, snow and stronger winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to or over 40 mph by afternoon.
DILLON: LOW: 33°; HIGH FRIDAY: 54°. A few showers are possible this afternoon and evening but look for partial clearing overnight and temperatures falling down close to freezing. A cold front will bring increasing valley rain and mountain Friday afternoon along with SW winds 15 to 25 mph and gusts over 40 mph. Mountain snow accumulations is likely through the weekend.
WEST YELLOWSTONE: LOW: 25°; HIGH FRIDAY: 40°. Scattered rain or snow is likely this afternoon and early evening. 2″ – 5″ of snow is possible above 6,500′ tonight. Showers should diminish by early morning but the next cold front will produce more rain or snow and stronger winds by late morning to early afternoon on Friday.
