Wishing on a star can sometimes make that wish come true, and Butte is encouraging people to wish on its own special star.

The Mainstreet Uptown Butte organization is asking people to wish on this Montana-made copper star that once topped the White House Christmas tree in Washington D.C back in 2017.

The star is in the Butte Courthouse and people are encouraged to write down a wish, and the city just might make it come true.

“Some people ask for Xboxes and we can't help that, we can't by big-screen TVs, but we can help with small wishes that you think will help somebody you know who needs just a helping hand around the holiday season,” said George Everett with Mainstreet Uptown Butte.

Wishes can be dropped into these boxes in the chief executives office until Dec. 19th.
