BOZEMAN – Next weather maker is here! Increasing rain and snow is developing as expected across SW Montana first along the MT/ID state line and now building over Butte a little after 2 pm Saturday.

Low-pressure system will bring periods of wrap around moisture across western and southern Montana this evening into Sunday morning. Lower valleys could see a rain/snow mix, but all snow is likely after sunset tonight.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

The National Weather Service continues a Winter Weather Advisory for SW Montana above 5,500’ tonight into Sunday morning.

Mountain passes could see 4”-10” of snow and lower valleys 1”-4” is possible. This will create snow covered and icy roads Saturday evening into Sunday morning.

This system will quickly pass through the state and should be gone by Sunday afternoon, however, another shot of snow is likely with a weak disturbance Sunday evening into Monday morning and this system will impact your Monday morning commute to work or school.

If you plan on traveling Saturday night through Monday night, please plan on wintry conditions and longer drive times. Slow down and take your time.
