BOZEMAN - Good weather news! Warming and drying pattern begins across western Montana Thursday but a slow moving Low will continue to produce widespread moderate to heavy rain in eastern Montana. In fact, a flood watch continues for NE counties of Montana through Thursday afternoon.

This slow moving Low is also producing mountain snow along the MT/WY state line. The Beartooth Pass is closed due to snow, blowing and drifting snow Wednesday evening. A Winter Weather Advisory continues into Thursday morning for the backcountry areas near Cooke City and Gardiner.

High pressure will begin to build over SW Montana Thursday and by Friday this ridge pattern will produce much warmer highs and lows. A cold front could clip the region Friday evening with little to no rain but increase surface winds through Saturday morning.

Next week the pattern will likely change again and back to cool and wet for SW Montana.
