BOZEMAN – Ahead of the next weather maker a good push of very warm air to roll up in Montana with forecast highs Wednesday hitting the 70s and a few lower 80s are possible. In fact, Wednesday forecast highs will be very close to record levels.

The next cold front will push across Montana Thursday and with it will come scattered showers and thunderstorms. Before the cold front arrives, there could be a few showers and thunderstorms develop Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.

Forecast models show a possible thunderstorm train from Wisdom to Lewistown Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon. The centerline of this storm track could help produce moderate to heavy rainfall.

Temperatures will be cooling as this first cold front passes through Thursday and another cool and wet pattern will hit Sunday into Monday. Snow is likely with this storm system for most mountain ranges and possibly for higher elevated valleys by Monday morning.
