Slow warming trend started today

BOZEMAN – Colder than normal temperatures continued today for most areas of Montana but SW Montana was the cold spot in the state with Wednesday morning lows down into the teens and 20s.

No record lows were broken with one notable exception. Livingston’s low this morning was 26° and that is a new record low. The old record low for Livingston was 27° set way back in 1898.

High-pressure is slowly rebuilding in from the west and will continue to produce a slow warming trend through the weekend into early next week. Temperatures are likely to warm back up into the 70s Thursday and slowly reach the 80s by Sunday into Monday of next week.

This is also a dry pattern for the next 10 days. The combination of warming temperatures and dry conditions will increase fire danger once again. If we see increasing wind be especially careful with outdoor activities to avoid new fire starts.
