BOZEMAN - Another Pacific storm system is back and will continue to bring off-and-on showers and thunderstorms to SW Montana Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Low pressure over Idaho will spin up moisture mostly east of the divide tonight into Wednesday. Areas of moderate to heavy rain are possible mostly over central and eastern counties. SW Montana will see a variety of showers and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours and snow levels could fall down to 7,000' with minor accumulations over most higher peaks.

Strong and possible a few severe thunderstorms could clip southern Gallatin, southern Park counties and Yellowstone National Park Tuesday afternoon and early evening. Strong damaging wind gusts are the primary concern with developing thunderstorms. The rest of SW Montana should see showers and a few weak to moderate strength thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon.

Central and eastern Montana could see several inches of rain with this storm system and a FLOOD WATCH is up Wednesday into Thursday for NE counties.

A break in this cool and wet weather pattern is coming soon, by Thursday High pressure will re-build over the region producing drying and warming as we head into the weekend.
