BOZEMAN - The Montana winter storm that has the country's attention has arrived. Record snowfall is expected for NW Montana for the last week of September. We'll see lesser amounts here SW Montana, but most areas will see their first snow of the season.

A Winter Storm Warning is out for our western counties until Sunday Night.

A Winter Weather Advisory is out for Beaverhead, Madison, and Gallatin Counties.

Rain will transition over to to snow for most of the area starting Saturday afternoon. The quicker this transition takes place, the more snow we're going to see. For example, if we see a transition over to snow in Bozeman earlier we'll see more snow. The transition is expected to take place Saturday evening in Butte, and early Sunday morning in Bozeman.

Snowfall Totals
Bozeman - 1"-3"
Butte- 3"-6"
Dillon - 1"- 3"
Anaconda - 3"-6"
Ennis -1"-3"
Deer Lodge 3"-6"
