BOZEMAN – Good news! Spring starts at 9:50 pm Thursday evening. Frist full day of Spring is Friday. Unfortunately, temperatures will remain below normal especially east of the divide Friday.

An interesting fact about the early arrival of Spring this year. It’s the earliest start to Spring in 124 years.

Weather-wise a blocking High pressure ridge will build over Montana beginning tomorrow and hold through the weekend. This should lock us into a dry and somewhat mild pattern. Temperatures will be near normal for Butte this weekend reaching the mid-40s but remain slightly below for Bozeman.

The next weather maker will arrive early next week. Areas of snow and wintry travel concerns will develop for most of Western Montana beginning Monday. Reaching SW Montana Monday night into Tuesday.

Warm air will roll up ahead of this storm Monday into Tuesday. Temperatures could be warm enough to produce a rain/snow mix Tuesday. As a cold front passes through Tuesday evening temperatures will fall so look for mostly snow Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Plan on wintry travel conditions across most of Montana late Monday through Wednesday of next week.
