BOZEMAN – Polar jet stream is paving the way for another Pacific storm to pass through Montana. Ahead of the storm we are seeing scattered showers mostly across the western half the state.
A cold front will pass through Saturday morning and should produce gusty winds from Bozeman to Billings.
A new RED FLAG WARNING is up from noon to 9 pm Saturday for the southern half of the state. The gusty winds will keep fire danger running high to extreme so please be careful recreating this weekend.
Showers are possible Saturday morning for SW Montana and even a little higher mountain snow. Another weak disturbance could produce some mountain snow showers Saturday night into Sunday morning. Temperatures will be running cooler this weekend and below freezing at higher elevations with snowfall in the forecast.
Next week a new High-pressure ridge will build back over the region and should lock us into a mostly dry and warmer weather pattern for the first half of next week.
