BOZEMAN – Finally a pattern change is coming soon to Montana. Currently, High-pressure is dominating our overall weather despite a few weak dry cold fronts. More of the same for the rest of this week with dry and warmer than normal conditions.

Blocking High-pressure will begin to break down by Saturday and replacing it will be an upper-level trough. This will allow Pacific storms to pass through the Pacific NW and Northern Rockies.

Some storms will be strong, but most should be weak, regardless, there are at least 3 systems to pass through the state between Sunday and Wednesday of next week. Look for valley rain and higher mountain snow along with a cooler temperature pattern late weekend into next week.

Climate Prediction Center's 6 to 10 day outlook for Oct. 11-15 is a general look at the changes coming to Montana.
