BOZEMAN – This weekend we return to standard time. Saturday night before you go to bed turn your clock back 1 hour.
A cold front is passing through Montana Friday afternoon and early evening. Ahead of the front look for stronger surface winds and there are numerous wind highlights up across Montana.
The National Weather service has issued a HIGH WIND WARNING for norther central Montana including Helena, Great Falls, Lewistown, Havre, and Cut Bank through midnight Friday.
Sustained SW winds 20 to 40 mph and at times peak gusts up to 60 mph.
The National Weather Service issued a WIND ADVISORY for the Butte/Blackfoot region through 7 pm Friday evening.
Sustained SW winds 15 to 25 mph and peak gusts up to 45 mph are possible.
The National Weather Service has issued a WIND ADVISORY for the Livingston area through 10 pm Friday night.
Sustained SW winds 30 to 40 mph and peak gusts to 60 mph are possible.
Once the front blows through the weather pattern will be slightly cooler Friday night into Saturday. The overall weekend weather pattern should be dry. Saturday will be cooler with mostly 40s for highs but Sunday we should see temperatures climbing again into the 50s and numerous 60s are possible by Monday.
The next big weather pattern change is likely by the end of next week and the first full weekend of November.
Long range forecast models have most of Montana with below normal temperatures and near normal precipitation. In other words, colder with a good chance for snow.
