BOZEMAN – A disturbance is building over Eastern Idaho and Northern Wyoming this afternoon with a few showers and thunderstorms near West Yellowstone, Big Sky, and Cooke City.
The rest of SW Montana has considerable cloud cover this afternoon but very little to no thunderstorm development.
Up next, is a High-pressure ridge to build over the region tonight through Saturday morning. This will help temperatures warm back up into the 80s Friday and Saturday.
Plan on a more active weather pattern to begin by Saturday afternoon and evening as a strong Pacific cold front drops into Montana. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop Saturday afternoon, and some could be strong to severe.
Temperatures will turn much cooler and fall well below normal by Sunday into the first half of next week as a slow-moving upper level Low spins through the region. This will also produce off-and-on showers and thunderstorms Sunday through Wednesday.
