BOZEMAN – A cool and unsettled weather pattern will continue for the next 48 hours. A deep trough is sitting over the Northern, Central and Southern Rockies producing the cooler than normal weather pattern. There is also a fair amount of moisture in the flow aloft and with the warmest hours of the day, the atmosphere is slightly unstable. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday and a few showers into Thursday.
A weather pattern change is still expected by the end of the week into the weekend. Strong High pressure is currently just off the Pacific NW coast and will slowly build inland reaching Montana this weekend. A blocking High will bring a dry and warm weather pattern for Mother’s Day.

BUTTE: LOW: 34°; HIGH WEDNESDAY: 52°. Mostly cloudy and chilly tonight into Wednesday. Scattered showers are likely with a few isolated weak thunderstorms. There is a slight chance rain could mix with snow in the early morning hours Wednesday and Thursday. North winds 15 to 25 mph.
DILLON: LOW: 36°; HIGH WEDNESDAY: 56°. Mostly cloudy and cool with gusty Noth winds tonight and Wednesday. Scattered valley rain and higher mountain snow are possible at times.
WEST YELLOWSTONE: LOW: 26°; HIGH WEDNESDAY: 49°. Below freezing tonight despite mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers. Valley rain and mountain snow will continue tonight into Wednesday with a slight chance for a few rumbles of thunder. North to NE winds, 10 to 20 mph are likely.
