BOZEMAN – Temperatures Thursday for most of SW Montana jumped up into the 20s and lower 30s. The exception was Bozeman and Belgrade with teens and 20s. Regardless, today was a slightly warmer day this week but temperatures are expected to fall again Friday and into the weekend.
Snow bands have been producing localized areas of snow along the continental divide Thursday with minor snow accumulations near Butte.
Snow showers should be increasing Friday into Saturday morning as a Low-pressure system moves through Idaho and Wyoming spinning up wrap around snow bands through most of Southern Montana. Area of greatest concern for travel impacts will be east of the divide in SW Montana and from Bozeman to Billings to Miles City. Heavier snow bands will impact travel on I-90 Friday afternoon into Saturday morning.

Friday will be cooler with scattered snow in the morning and a better chance for snow in the afternoon and evening. Snow accumulations of 2″ – 5″ is possible Friday into Saturday. Friday evening commutes will be impacted by snow and lower visibility.
BUTTE: LOW: 6°; HIGH FRIDAY: 26°. Mostly cloudy with scattered off and on snow tonight into Friday morning for Butte. Snow is likely Friday with a few snow bands producing brief moderate snow accumulations. 1″ – 5″ of snow is possible. Look for travel impacts with snow, snow-covered and icy roads and lower visibility Friday afternoon and evening.
DILLON: LOW: 15°; HIGH FRIDAY: 28°. Mostly cloudy and cold tonight with a few snow showers. Friday look for a little snow in the morning with a better chance for off and on snow bands in the afternoon and evening. Snow accumulations of 1″ – 3″ is possible.
WEST YELLOWSTONE: LOW: 19°; HIGH FRIDAY: 34°. Mostly cloudy with scattered snow showers tonight. More snow is likely Friday into Saturday. Snow accumulations of 2″ – 5″ is possible Friday into Saturday.
