BOZEMAN – Another Arctic cold front to sweep across Montana Friday night and with it increasing areas of light snow. Travel impacts are likely as the front could produce localized gusty winds over 30 mph and that will bring blowing and drifting along with extremely cold wind chills tonight to most of Montana.
Behind the front, this weekend snow chances look low with a few hit and miss flurries on Saturday afternoon but the door will be wide open for deeper Arctic air to dig down into the valley floor by Sunday.
Forecast lows for SW Montana will drop between -10 to -30 below by Sunday and Monday mornings. Wind chill values could be colder than -20 below at times and frostbite could develop on exposed skin within 30 minutes. So please try and limit your exposure to the extreme cold this weekend into early next week.
