BUTTE – If you ever wanted to own a brothel – or at least the building to a former brothel – Butte is about to put one up for sale.
Butte’s historic Dumas Brothel building will be sold at a tax deed sale on Oct. 3rd after the building transferred over to Silver Bow County due to the former owner being four years delinquent on property taxes.
The sale will take place at 9 a.m. on the third floor of the Butte Courthouse.
The infamous Dumas operated as a bordello on Mercury street from 1890 to 1982.
