Butte offers loan to help small businesses during coronavirus outbreak

Butte’s Council of Commissioners approved emergency loan funding for small businesses who are in dire straits due to the coronavirus.

“And this funding could be difference between them being in business or not,” said Butte Local Development Corporation Director Joe Willauer.

Businesses can receive for an up to $10,000 loan with no interest for 6 months by applying for it at the Butte Local Development website. The city has up to $200,000 available to help businesses struggling.

“It’s been really difficult to hear the struggles these business owners are facing, but it’s also been so encouraging to hear how hard their working and to be able to help these people that really are the bedrock of this community,” said Willauer.

Business owners appreciate the support from the city and their loyal customers during this difficult time.

“Having faith in the lord is going to get us in the right direction and I think that will the assistance of Butte and how awesome they are they’re going to help us all get through this together,” said La Casa Toscana restaurant owner Sonia Zachow.
