BOZEMAN — The Bozeman School Board says in-person classes, could resume for most students in November and January.

On a 7-1 vote board members voted to resume in-person classes for Pre-Kindergarten to fifth grade on November 2, 2020.

Middle school classes are to resume at the beginning of the second trimester - which the school calendar says is November 23rd.

High school classes will resume at the beginning of the second semester, which, according to the school calendar, is January 27th.

But none of these dates are firm. The vote says in-person classes will only resume if metrics developed by the board are met and there is another board vote.

School principals from high school to elementary school levels discussed the feasibility of transitioning from the blended model to a model that allows kids to go back to school 4-5 days a week.

The meeting did not end until one this morning. At one point there were 900 participants in the virtual meeting but by the time the session wrapped up that had dropped to about 275.

Trustee Andrew Willett was the only opposing vote.
