BOZEMAN, Mont. – Bozeman schools announced Tuesday that bus services are resuming for Chief Joseph and Sacajawea Middle Schools.

Four bus routes that went to both schools were suspended due to a driver shortage at the beginning of the school year. The Bozeman School District partners with bus company First Student, which has struggled to bring in enough bus drivers to accommodate the district’s needs.

The driver shortage affected as many as 200 students for several weeks at the beginning of the school year. Superintendent Rob Watson said it’s very important that the school district and First Student are on the same page to get students to school.

“It’s important for us that the services are back up and running, because parents and students depend on those services to work properly,” Watson said.

Bozeman Public Schools still faces a driver shortage which has resulted in buses running late.
