BUTTE – Butte police have charged a teenager in connection with the vandalism to the amphitheater at Butte’s veterans memorial.
Butte Sheriff Ed Lester said a 14-year-old boy admitted to spray painting graffiti on the amphitheater at Stodden Park on the morning of Jan. 26th. The graffiti included obscenities and a racial slur.
The juvenile faces a felony charge of criminal mischief, because the vandalism to the memorial was in excess of $1,500 in damage.
The tip leading to the identity of the teen came from a citizen, the sheriff said.
