Brief standoff follows after police serve fourth search warrant on Belgrade residence

UPDATE - 5/12/2023, 11:05 AM - A Belgrade woman was charged with assault with a weapon on Thursday after police responded to a report of a disturbance at 805 Dakota St. in Belgrade.

According to charging documents, at approximately 2:12 pm, a woman reported that Paula Alexandria Klompien, 36, had pointed a loaded gun at her and threatened her.

The woman told police she locked herself in the basement bathroom.

Upon arrival, Belgrade Police officers detained 7 people, including Klompien. When the victim was interviewed, she told police that she and two other people decided to stop at the house on Dakota Street to retrieve drugs.

A search warrant was obtained and officers located a 40-caliber Glock 23. Drug paraphernalia was also located in the home.

The victim, later identified as Brandie Nichole Shull, 30, was arrested for criminal possession of dangerous drugs after a search warrant was granted and officers reportedly found methamphetamine, potential Fentanyl pills, and benzodiazepine pills in Shull’s belongings.

BELGRADE — Belgrade Police served a fourth search warrant on a Dakota Street residence Thursday afternoon, which resulted in a standoff.

According to Police Chief Dustin Lensing, there were about a dozen people removed from the house.

Lensing says a firearm was involved, but no shots were fired, and no one was injured. He describes the standoff as a “brief one.”

Chief Lensing says the incident is still under investigation.
