San Diego, California (KGTV) — Residents of the North San Diego County community of Harmony Grove are cleaned up Friday from the massive storm.
Ray Barnette built a bridge 18 years ago because there is no other way in or out of his neighborhood when it floods.
Thursday, three large trees took out the handrails of the big bridge.
“It was full grown trees with stumps sticking out like you ripped it out of the ground,” he said.
Friday, he brought his tractor out to repair the handrails.
He was also sweeping the debris off the bridge and cleaning in between each crack so the wood would dry faster.
This is the same area where people rescued a woman from her car in the rising river.
We talked to Greg Kaczur who witnessed the woman being rescued saying, “They snagged that little lady as she was floating by. Then the car went past and ended up down the way with its lights on.”
The car is still in the river.
Harmony Grove road is still closed, but people are driving across it anyway.
