Boston, MA (WCVB) — A Boston Police Department captain is facing domestic assault and battery charges.
Timothy Connolly, 53, was arrested Thursday in Milton on two counts of domestic assault and battery.
The victim called 911 during the alleged incident that happened in Connolly’s Milton home.
The alleged victim testified Friday in open court in an effort to get a restraining order against her husband.
Phuong Bui described for the judge what happened at the pair’s Milton home Thursday. She claimed a verbal fight escalated into violence. “He took two hands and pushed me and I went back hard against the wall,” Bui said.
Bui claims Connolly shoved her and smacked the back of her head. “I looked at him and, I’m like, ‘you hit me, you hit me, you crossed the line.'”
She did not require medical attention.
Connolly and Bui have been married for 13 years but are in the process of divorcing.
He told investigators he did not assault his wife. His lawyer said the charges are the result of a heated break-up.
In a statement, Boston Police said Connolly was placed on administrative desk duty pending an internal affairs investigation into arrest made by an outside agency.
The department said it would not comment any further because the case was an open investigation.
