Fayetteville, AR (KFSM) — A student was hit by a car while crossing a crosswalk this afternoon (Feb. 2) according to University of Arkansas Police Captain Gary Crain.
The accident took place on Garland Avenue between the Garland Parking Garage and the set of dorms dubbed “The Quads.”
The 17-year-old driver is not a student at the University. They received two citations: failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and use of a handheld device while driving according to Crain.
The victim was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center.
