PD: 1 dead after driver slid into opposite lane, crashed into another driver

    Fairfield, OH (WCPO) — One person is dead after a driver slid into the opposite lane and crashed into another driver Friday morning, according to Fairfield Police Department spokesman Officer Doug Day.

A 17-year-old male driving a Honda Civic was driving eastbound on Port Union Road when he slid into the westbound lane at about 6:40 a.m. and crashed into a Jeep Patriot near Quality Boulevard, Day said.

The passenger in the Honda Civic died in the crash. First responders transported the driver to Mercy Hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the Jeep Patriot was not hurt.

Authorities have closed Port Union Road near Quality Boulevard until noon while they investigate.

Identity of the female victim has not yet been released.
