SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are searching for a Polish tourist last seen in La Jolla before disappearing this month.
Police said Michal Marcin Krowczynski, 30, was on vacation in the U.S. before he was reported missing on Jan. 18, after he failed to make his scheduled flight back to Phoenix the day before and eventually back to Poland.
Sebastian Rudewicz, a friend of Krowczynski, said he had hosted Krowczynski in Phoenix from Jan. 11 to Jan. 16, when he came to visit San Diego. That night, Rudewicz said his friend had dinner with two former colleagues.
The next day, Krowczynski checked out of the La Jolla Biltmore Motel at about 12 p.m. and asked the motel to hold on to his bags for two hours, according to Rudewicz. He never returned for his bags and he hasn’t been seen or heard from family and friends since.
Krowczynski’s Instagram profile shows photos posted from La Jolla, Pacific Beach, and Tijuana on Jan. 17, though it’s unclear when the photos themselves were taken.
Police said he has never been missing before and consider the disappearance unusual.
