WAUKESHA, WI (WISN) — A Waukesha woman had a shocking start to the new year: she found a stranger in her house, sleeping in her dog’s bed.
Officers were called to the home on Cardinal Drive around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
According to police, the man said he had too much to drink during his New Year’s Eve celebration and entered the home through an unlocked door thinking it was his own.
He climbed into the living room dog bed with Benton, the actual homeowner’s 150-pound Mastiff.
Once police got to the bottom of things, they said the man went back to his home a few doors down.
