Woman has died after getting pinned by residential elevator

    Papillion, NE (KPTM) — UPDATE5:19 P.M.:

Sarpy County Sheriff’s deputies say the woman pinned underneath the lift has died.

They say Asha Chaudhuri, 25, was stuck between the decking of the vertical lift system and the main floor of the home.

Investigators say she was pronounced dead shortly after getting to the hospital.

Sarpy County Sheriff’s investigators say it appears accidental, but they are going to keep looking into it.

UPDATE 2:30 PM: Officials say a woman in a wheel chair was pinned between a residential elevator and the floor.

They say she was taken to Bergan Mercy in critical condition.

An Officer with the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office says it took responders 20 minutes to free the woman.

An investigation is ongoing.

Sarpy County officials say the call came in just before 1 pm Thursday afternoon.

First responders are performing CPR on the person.
