Phoenix, AZ (KNXV) — Phoenix police officers were spotted giving each other a hand while helping a dog in danger on Monday.
Around 6:10 a.m., officers were called to a canal near 7th and Campbell avenues where a dog was reportedly stuck in the water.
The department says officers arrived on scene and found the puppy in the water and in distress.
The officers were able to work together to pull the dog from the water. They say they used a snare — a pole-type tool to help catch animals — that was donated from the Animal Cruelty Squad to help retrieve the pup.
It’s not known how long the dog was in the water, but police say the dog is now “warm and safe.”
Phoenix Police also thanked the person who called regarding the distressed dog so they could conduct the rescue.
