Clare County, MI (WJRT) — A Clare County woman is heading to prison after she pleaded guilty to stealing sausages from a freezer inside a residence she broke into.
Crystal Meranda of Harrison pleaded guilty last month to one count of first-degree home invasion. The homeowners police police they caught her removing sausages from their freezer on July 8.
On Monday, a judge sentenced Meranda to spend three to 20 years in prison. She also will be required to pay $1,698 in court costs and fines.
A separate criminal case pending against Meranda was dismissed after her plea, according to Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Williams Ambrozaitis.
