His music may be relaxing, but Michael Bolton promises he didn’t fall asleep during a live interview.
The singer tweeted Tuesday to try and clarify his recent appearance on Australia’s “The Morning Show.”
“I got my first record deal when I was 15 and I haven’t slept since!!,” Bolton tweeted along with a GIF of himself. “In all seriousness there were technical issues with the live feed and they caught me tweeting! We had a great interview once they fixed the glitch.”
It all started when Bolton went on the show remotely from Florida to promote his new album, “A Symphony of Hits.”
Co-hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies initially had a bit of difficulty getting his attention.
At first glance, it appeared that Bolton had his eyes closed and was dozing as the pair tried to start the interview.
“Hi, Michael. It’s Kylie and Larry. We’re with you live,” Gillies said.
Bolton opened his eyes, said “It’s gone silent” and appeared to close his eyes again.
The co-hosts tried to joke it all off with Gillies asking, “What time is it in Florida?” and Emdur cracking, “Cocktail time.”
Things were eventually sorted out and the interview went on as scheduled.
“I can hear you perfectly,” Bolton said once things got underway.
