Tuesday Morning Forecast: Snow expected to pick up tonight

Today's Forecast:
Your Tuesday will see mainly cloudy conditions with a few isolated snow showers possible. Winter Weather Advisories are out for southwest Montana by the evening into your Wednesday with an emphasis on snow above 5000 feet. Extreme southern Gallatin, Madison, and Beaverhead counties could see between 6”-12” of mountain snow with lighter amounts between 1”-3” for the valleys by Wednesday afternoon. The Butte/Blackfoot region will likely see 4”-8” of mountain snow with 1”-3” of valley snow possible. Gusty winds between 20-40 mph are possible for the region leaving visibility and drifting snow main concerns.

BOZEMAN: High: 34; Low: 23. Look for mainly cloudy conditions for the afternoon with light snow developing near midnight. Accumulations are expected to be below 1” for most of the area with higher amounts in the foothills.

BUTTE: High: 31; Low: 20. Mainly cloudy and breezy with winds out of the SW between 5-15 through the afternoon and evening. Light snow is possible by midnight with heavier snow by Wednesday morning.

DILLON: High: 29; Low: 19. Temperatures will remain cool with light snow possible by the evening. The heaviest snow is expected to develop overnight.

WEST YELLOWSTONE: High: 18; Low: 4. Pockets of heavy snow are possible especially toward the afternoon and evening. Accumulations by Wednesday evening are expected to be between 3”-6” with locally higher amounts possible.
