BOZEMAN – A weather pattern change is coming to Montana! It will come in several waves. First a stalled cold front has moved into Montana east of the divide today and has stalled along the continental divide. Cooler Canadian air is producing comfortable temperatures east of the divide but still reaching the 80s and 90s west of the divide.
Next, will be a plume of monsoonal moisture rolling up on the back side of the High-pressure ridge over the central Rockies and will increase the chance for showers and thunderstorms by Thursday afternoon into Friday.
This will be followed by a slow-moving Low-pressure trough, currently off the west coast, and will sit over the western half of the country this weekend into early next week producing additional rain chances and much cooler temperatures through next week.
The above on-demand STORMTracker forecast will walk you through the changes hour-by-hour through Saturday.
