Thunderstorms to continue this weekend

BOZEMAN - An active weather pattern will continue this weekend as monsoonal moisture is lifting northward through the Pacific NW and up into the northern Rockies.

Scattered thunderstorms will hit most of Montana this weekend, however, the northern half of the state should see the more widespread showers and thunderstorm vs. the southern half of the state with just a few scattered thunderstorms this weekend.

Saturday should be the day for stronger thunderstorms to impact SW Montana. Some storms will be slow moving and could dump moderate to heavy rainfall in a short amount time. Therefore, a Flash Flood Watch is up for the Butte/Blackfoot region Saturday afternoon and evening.

Sunday will bring another round of late afternoon to early evening thunderstorms to SW Montana.

Temperatures this weekend will be cooler than normal but will remain on the warm side with mostly 70s for highs.
