BOZEMAN — High pressure brought another very warm to hot day all around Montana and Wyoming on Friday. Clouds have already begun their advance into our sky, and better chances for showers and thunderstorms will arrive. We can expect a few more clouds by morning with a few light showers over southwest Montana. Lows will range from the upper 40s to the lower 60s.

A wave of energy will bring better chances for showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, first to southwest Montana, then moving eastward in the afternoon and evening. An approaching trough of low pressure and its cold front will then push over Montana on Sunday and Monday bringing gusty wind and a better chance for active weather, followed by a minor cooling trend on Monday.

The ridge of high pressure will regain control of our weather next Tuesday and Wednesday, but isolated showers and thunderstorms will still occur in a few locations. Highs will be much more seasonable much of next week. Another approaching trough of low pressure will bring stronger wind next Thursday and early Friday, but it will be moisture-starved, and we'll stay seasonable.
