BOZEMAN - The atmosphere is slightly unstable Wednesday. There is just enough monsoonal moisture lingering over SW Montana to produce scattered thunderstorms this afternoon into the early evening hours tonight.
Some storms could be strong producing brief heavy rain, small hail, gusty winds, and frequent lightning. At this time we are not expecting severe thunderstorms to develop but check the STORMTracker weather mobile app for updates.
Starting Thursday a stronger High-pressure ridge will build over the region and produce a heatwave through the weekend into early next week. Forecast highs for most of SW Montana will be in the low to mid 90s Friday through Monday.
