High wind warnings have been issued for southwest Montana for your Wednesday. Winds are expected to be between 20-40 mph with gusts in excess of 60 mph. Daytime highs in the middle and upper 40s will be knocked back to the low 30s as a cold front moves through the region in the mid-morning hours. That front will likely bring scattered rain showers that may transition to snow as colder air settles in. Skies are expected to clear this afternoon with temperatures tumbling quickly along with a hefty northwest wind that could bring gusts near 60 mph through the early evening.
BOZEMAN: High: 45; Low: 17. Expect winds to gust between 30-60 mph at times today with late morning rain showers that could also include snow. No significant accumulation is expected though we could see some light accumulation stick into the evening depending on the intensity of snow.
BUTTE: High: 43; Low: 13. Expect winds to gust in excess of 50 mph at times in the region as a cold front drops temperatures quickly late in the morning. Scattered showers are likely, but mainly as rain as the front moves through. Skies will clear quickly this afternoon, but winds will gust out of the northwest well into the evening.
DILLON: High: 48; Low: 14. Warm and windy to start with gusty winds continuing through the afternoon. Temperatures will fall steadily through the afternoon with a few scattered showers possible through the morning.
WEST YELLOWSTONE: High: 36; Low: 1. Light snow showers and gusty winds are likely for the day as a cold front drives through the area this afternoon. Expect wind gusts in excess of 40 mph at times.
