BOZEMAN – Mild temperatures today across Montana with a stronger surface flow out of the SW and that should continue into Wednesday.
A pattern change is slowly developing over the Pacific NW with an upper-level trough and Pacific storm system moving onshore today. This system is already increasing clouds over Montana and will begin to push scattered showers later tonight into Wednesday over the western half of the state.
A cold front will pass through the region Wednesday afternoon or early evening and ahead of the front look for showers, gusty winds, mild temperatures but once the front passes through cooler temperatures and scattered snow showers will develop over the state.
A gradual cooling trend will begin Wednesday but more significant cooling is coming by the end of the week heading into the weekend.
Temperatures will remain slightly below normal by Friday but could come back up closer to normal by early next week.
