Mrs. Eleanor A. Larsen, age 84, passed away Sunday, March 17 at her home in Bozeman, MT, surrounded by her family.

Elie was born on September 18, 1934, in Minneapolis, MN— the last born of three children of Norwegian immigrants Astrid and Erling Hansen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Harry, and sister, June.

Elie graduated from Minnehaha Academy, having a talent for both mathematics and singing. She sang soprano in the Minnehaha Singers choir group.

She met the love of her life, Ronald Earl Larsen, in Minneapolis—he saw her at a Sweetheart Dance and fell head over heels. He joined the church choir to meet her and they married thereafter. April 12 would be their 62nd wedding anniversary.

Elie had many adventures in her life, among them running a farm with her husband and two children for seven years, and then packing them all up and moving further west to build a log house in Montana, outside of Helena in Clancy, where they would make many treasured friends. Amongst her most cherished relationships were those of her family. She faithfully loved and supported each one through life’s ups and downs.

Elie’s bright smile and hearty laugh will be greatly missed. We grieve deeply for the loss of this most honorable woman and are comforted knowing she’s with the Lord singing in the heavenly choir, surrounded by friends and family.

Elie is survived by her husband, Ron; son, Joel (wife, Sandy); daughter, Pam (husband, Kirk); grandchildren, Adam, Kendra (fiancé, Dusty), Brooke (fiancé, Jason), and Jonelle; and great-grandchildren, Aleana, Daniel, Brooke, Jacob, and Grace.

The Larsen family requests donations be made to her favorite charity, Operation Christmas Child, in lieu of flowers.

Services will be held Friday, March 22 at 1:00 P.M. in Helena, MT at Life Covenant Church, 800 N. Hoback, following a simple memorial with loved family, friends, and staff from her home at Brookdale Springmeadows in Bozeman.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.  www.dokkennelson.com
