Carroll College has announced a new accelerated nursing program that will allow students to earn a bachelor's in nursing in only 15 months.

The new program was approved by the Montana Board of Nursing this week and is only available to students who have already earned a bachelors degree in any field and wish to become a licensed registered nurse.

"Healthcare and nursing in particular across the country is facing tremendous shortages," said Carroll President, John Cech. "So these are jobs that are in high demand and they’re very well paid jobs. I think it's a great opportunity for someone looking for career advancement."

According to the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, health care is the fastest growing economic sector in the state with more than 1,000 jobs expected to be added in Montana by 2027.

Carroll is also wrapping up the re-model of the holistic lab and nursing offices at the college.
