The U.S. Forest Service confirms with MTN News one of the nine killed in Sunday morning’s mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio was a former tour-guide at the Smoke Jumper Center in Missoula.

The Washington Post reports Megan Betts, 22, was shot by her brother Connor Betts, the suspect in the shooting.

Northern Regional Press Officer Dan Hottle says Betts obtained a 6-week internship through the Student Conservation Association program and was in Montana from about the middle of May to July.

According to Betts' Facebook page, she studied Biological Sciences at Wright State University.

Hottle says the U.S. Forest Service sends its deepest condolences.
