Third victim of deadly Silver Mountain avalanche located

Search and rescue crews have located a person still buried under an avalanche on Silver Mountain on Thursday afternoon.

KREM TV reports Two Bear Air helicopter out of Whitefish confirmed that a person was found buried under the snow.

The person was located with a Recco device.

Previously, two dead and four injured people were recovered from the avalanche.

The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office said Carl William Dick Humphreys, 58, of Liberty Lake and Scott Michael Parsons, 46, of Spokane Valley were killed in Tuesday's avalanche on Wardner Peak.

Four other people were injured in the avalanche.

The resort received information at about 7 a.m. on Wednesday morning that another skier was unaccounted for and search efforts restarted.
