LEWIS AND CLARK CAVERNS STATE PARK — This Week in Fish and Wildlife we talk with Lewis and Clark State Park Ranger Julia Smit about the parks more unusual residents.
There are 15 species of bats in Montana and 10 of them live in Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park. That’s just one of the many fascinating facts you can learn as part of the annual Bat Week at Montana’s first state park. FWP has something planned every day for this year’s Bat Week fun.

Sunday, August 11
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: “Bats: Truth Is Stranger than Fiction” with assistant park manager and bat expert Tom Forwood. Main (lower) VC.

9:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Bat Walk meeting at the Main (lower) Visitor Center

Monday, August 12
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Bats of Lewis & Clark Caverns with Caverns staff Travis Kidd (Campground Amphitheater)

Tuesday, August 13
7:30 PM - 8:30 PM: Bat Talk! with Jake Tholen, Caverns staff

8:30 PM - 10:00 PM: Bat Walk with Matt Bell

Wednesday, August 14
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Bat Talk with Aubrey Enderle, Caverns staff

Thursday, August 15
8:00 PM - 10:00 PM Mist Netting at Limespur Fishing Access. $4 per person, must be paid in cash. Registration required at 406-287-3541.

Friday, August 16
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: "Bats of Montana" with Guest Speaker Lewis Young (Main Visitor Center)

Saturday, August 17
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: "Why Bats Are Cute" with Park Ranger Julia Smit (campground amphitheater)
