A large plane flying circles over Butte Wednesday captured the attention of a lot of onlookers, but authorities assured MTN News it doesn't pose a threat.
Butte-Silver Bow County Sheriff Ed Lester told MTN News the plane is a military aircraft conducting touch-and-go training at the Bert-Mooney Airport.
Lester didn't specify which branch the plane was with. Observers noted markings on the plane that possibly pointed to a U.S. Navy jet, but that remains unconfirmed.
