LIVINGSTON MONT. — Mudslides and unstable roads have forced the state to close a Paradise Valley road.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) has closed Secondary Highway 540 south of Livingston between MP 9.6 (Six Mile Road) to MP 11.0 (Murphy Lane) due to mudslides and road instability.

MDT is currently assessing the site and developing a scope of work for a future project.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes, the closure will be in place until further notice . For updates please check MDT’s Travel Info site at mdt.mt.gov/travinfo/alerts.shtml [mdt.mt.gov] or like MDT’s Facebook page by searching @montanadot.
