One person died and two people were injured in a one-car crash near Jefferson City on Saturday.

It happened at about 6:40 p.m. at mile marker 176 of I-15.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the Hyundai Elantra was northbound at the time and the road was wet.

The car went off the left side of the road in a counter-clockwise skid and through the median; the passenger-side tires "tripped" in loose dirt on the median, causing the car to roll at least once. The MHP said that none of the three occupants were wearing seat belts, and that impaired driving may have been a factor in the crash.

The name of the person who died has not yet been released; the MHP said he was a 20-year old man from Kalispell.

The two people who were injured - both 19 years old, one from Kalispell and one from Hot Springs - were treated at and released from St. Peter's hospital in Helena.
