In Great Falls this weekend you can break TV's and glass bottles and bang things with a rubber mallet at Rage Rooms of Montana.
The business is offering a way to “Engage your Rage” and relieve built up stress - whether you are letting off steam after a rough day at work, taking out your frustrations on an old TV instead of your new one, or getting over a break-up. There are several options to choose from. Packages start at $20 per person and go up from there based on how many items and how large those items are.
They also offer an option to bring in your own items for a discounted price, and a number of music options to listen to as you indulge your destructive side.
Kaycee Oloughlin and her daughter Kasidhe Dickey came up with the idea after hearing about “rage rooms” all over the country and decided they wanted it to be something available in Great Falls.
Kasidhe said, “I wanted to smash something - I almost smashed the house. So I vented with my mother and I was like, we need somewhere here in town where you can just go smash stuff.”
Kasidhe’s daughter also wanted in on the fun so they came up with another option for the younger “ragers.” They can get paint and different brushes that come with a canvas so you can take your artwork home with you. You can also enjoy a "paint war" with two canvases where you and a friend can splatter paint on each other and the walls.
Kaycee said they will be working in the community as well with counselors who prescribe this type of therapy.
“That’s part of why we are here. There are a lot of people in this town who have anger issues and it’s a lot cheaper to break up our stuff instead of break up their stuff.”
She also mentioned that if someone is in an emergent need, they will accept appointments outside of their normal business hours to hold an emergency “rage session” on a case by case basis.
They are ready for their “Grand Smashing Opening" on Saturday where they plan to have a car on hand, and prizes available for the first 50 people that show up.
Rage Rooms of Montana is located at 813 3rd Avenue South and will be open on Saturday from 1 p.m. until midnight. Click here to visit their Facebook page .
